Meet our Staff
Nate Friedman, Senior Director
Nate has been the Senior Director of Youth Protection and Program Support since 2015, and it is one of many roles that he plays as Associate Dean for Continuing Education and Community Engagement. Nate started with Continuing Education and Community Engagement in 2002 as a Club U Counselor and has served in many different capacities since. His years of experience and passion for providing a safe environment for youth was instrumental in the development of the YPPS office. Nate has a Masters of Public Administration (MPA) and a Bachelor's degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism from the University of Utah.
Marci Hutchinson, Education Coordinator
Marci has been the Education Coordinator for YPPS since June 2016. She provides University
programs with the resources they need to ensure that they comply with the University
Safety of Minors Policy and provide a safe environment for youth participating in
these programs. She develops and provides the materials used to educate staff and
volunteers on abuse prevention and abuse reporting. Marci has a Bachelor’s Degree
in Communications from the University of Utah, and recently demonstrated her commitment
to abuse prevention by becoming a Certified Praesidium Guardian™.
